Review Of Magnum Luxe Salted Caramel 440ml

Magnum first launched back in 1989 and quickly became an Aussie favourite. While the brand is best known for its ice cream stick range, they also make tubs.

This review looks at whether the Magnum Luxe Salted Caramel 440ml lives up to its reputation and price point. I’ll help you decide if it’s worth a place in your freezer.

Is Magnum Luxe Salted Caramel Ice Cream any good?

Magnum Luxe Salted Caramel has vanilla ice cream with layers of salted caramel sauce and chocolate pieces. It’s all encased in a shell made of Magnum’s signature chocolate.

The sauce makes up 12% of the container and is delicious. The salty flavour is perfect for balancing out sweet ice cream and choc shards.

Give the sauce 5 minutes to turn mouth-wateringly oozy.

Chocolate shards lie hidden through the tub, and they’re not hard to find. There’s also a delicious choc shell that encases the ice cream. A spot on the pack shows where to press to crack the shell.

If you’re okay with using your hands to eat, use the shards to scoop ice cream into your mouth.

The vanilla flavoured ice cream is creamy and smooth, although not as premium as most other pint-sized ice creams in the supermarket freezers. At over $10 for a 440ml container, it won’t fit everyone’s budget.

Pros

  • The sauce, choc, and ice cream are an excellent combination.
  • Chocolate is sourced from high-quality cocoa beans.
  • Supports the Rainforest Alliance and the use of recycled plastic.

Cons

  • Expensive for the pack size.
  • Made in Hungary (not Aussie made).
